In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (5) of Section 1 of the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948 the Govt. of Punjab with the approval of the Central Govt. has extended provisions of the ESI Act to Educational Institutions in the areas as specified in the schedule given below w.e.f. 12.06.09 vide notification no.21/15/04-3HB7 (4HB4)/1040 dated 2nd June, 2009:-

| Educational Institutions (Private, aided or partially aided) run by individuals, trusts, societies or other organizations, wherein 20 persons are employed or were employed on any day of the preceding twelve months. | Areas where the Scheme has already been brought into force under section 1(3) and 1(5) of Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948. |
All the employers of concerned Educational Institutions coverable under the provisions of ESI Act as per above referred notification are requested to submit the complete information in Form-01 as required under Section 2(A) of ESI Act, 1948 and read with Regulation 10(B) of ESI (General) Regulation 1950 to the Regional Office, ESI Corporation, Panchdeep Bhawan, Sector 19-A, Chandigarh-160019 within 15 days from the Act becomes applicable.
However, the employers may contact nearest Branch Office/Regional Office, ESI Corporation for further guidance.

कर्मचारी राज्य बीमा अधिनियम 1948 की धारा 1 की उप धारा (5) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए पंजाब सरकार ने केन्द्रीय सरकार के अनुमोदन से अपनी अधिसूचना संख्या 21/15/04-3 एच बी 7 (4 एच बी 4)/1040 दिनांक:2.06.09 जोकि पंजाब सरकार के गजट में दिनांक:12.06.09 को प्रकाशित की गई है के माध्यम से कर्मचारी राज्य बीमा अधिनियम के सभी उपबंधों का दिनांक:12.06.09 से नीचे दी गई अनुसूची में उल्लिखित विनिर्दिष्ट क्षेत्रों में विस्तार किया है :-

वे क्षेत्र जहां ये स्थापनाएं स्थित हैं |

व्यक्ति विशेष, न्यास, सोसाइटी अथवा अन्य संगठनों द्वारा संचालित ऐसे निजी शिक्षण संस्थान (पूर्ण या आंशिक सहायता प्राप्त) जिनमें 20 कामगार काम करते हैं अथवा पिछले 12 माह के दौरान किसी भी दिन काम करते रहे हैं । |
वे क्षेत्र जहां कर्मचारी राज्य बीमा अधिनियम 1948 की धारा 1(3)व 1(5) के अंतर्गत योजना पहले से लागू है । |
शिक्षण संस्थानों के ऐसे सभी नियोजकों, जो उक्त संदर्भित अधिसूचना के अंतर्गत कर्मचारी राज्य बीमा अधिनियम के दायरे में आते हैं, वे कर्मचारी राज्य बीमा अधिनियम 1948 की धारा 2(क) के साथ पठित कर्मचारी राज्य बीमा (सामान्य) विनियमावली 1950 के विनियम 10(ख) की अपेक्षाओं के अनुसार 01-फार्म में जानकारी देते हुए इस अधिनियम के लागू होने की तारीख के 15 दिन के भीतर इसे क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय, कर्मचारी राज्य बीमा निगम, पंचदीप भवन, सैक्टर-19 ए, मघ्य मार्ग, चण्डीगढ़ -160019 में प्रस्तुत करें ।
किसी प्रकार के अतिरिक्त मार्गदर्शन के लिए निगम के निकटतम शाखा कार्यालय/क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय से संपर्क किया जा सकता है ।
